These illustrations are for the February issue of Odyssey Magazine. While I was working on them I was trying out a juice fast for the first time. The first couple days of a juice fast can be pretty rough...I found it kind of funny that during that time I was drawing cookies and cake. It was a fun assignment to work on anyway! #illustration #magazine #whitemale #blackfemale
Cobblestone Magazine celebrates Black History Month with an issue on the Civil Rights movement of the 50's and 60's. The magazine focuses on the younger generation of that time. I was fortunate enough to be asked to illustrate the cover. Thank you to Deb Porter for the great assignment!
side note: Deb was one of the very first art directors to give me a shot right out of college ;-)

Fall is just around the corner...here is a promotional postcard I created for a mailing that my agents are sending out. :-) It was always one of the best times of the year as a kid. #illustration #kids #whitefemale #blackfemale
The October issue of Appleseed Magazine is about Birmingham Alabama in 1963. I illustrated an article about MLK's Letter from Birmingham Jail. #nonfiction #illustration #magazine #blackmale #blackfemale
It is the 50th anniversary of Dr. King's "I Have a Dream" speech so I thought it was a good day to post this assignment.
The theme of the September issue of Cobblestone is also music. I got to illustrate an article about how singing helped to unite people during the civil rights movement in the 50's and 60's.
Here is the first illustration. I had a lot of fun working on this one. #magazine #nonfiction #illustration #blackmale #blackfemale
